✨ What Makes This Recipe Different: Muddling the mint and lime first releases all that fresh flavor and aroma so every sip tastes like a proper mojito.
This is the mojito mocktail recipe people ask me for most. It has all the fresh mint, lime, and fizz of a classic mojito without the alcohol. If you’re looking for an easy virgin mojito mocktail that tastes fresh and refreshing instead of overly sweet, this one is simple, crisp, and ready in minutes.
What Is a Mojito Mocktail?
A mojito mocktail is the non-alcoholic version of a classic mojito cocktail. It’s made with fresh mint, lime, sparkling water, and sweetener for the same refreshing flavor without the rum. You may also hear it called a virgin mojito mocktail, a nonalcoholic mojito or mint mojito mocktail.

How to Make A Classic Mojito Mocktail
Time needed: 5 minutes
- Muddle
Divide the mint leaves, honey, and lime slices between 2 sturdy glasses. Tall collins or highballer cocktail glasses work best. Muddle gently until the mint is fragrant and the lime releases its juice.
- Add Ice & Liquids
Add a handful of ice (I like to use my mint ice cubes in this recipe. Learn how to make them in this simple guide to how to make flavored ice cubes at home.) and the lime juice and stir well. Top with sparkling water.
- Garnish & Enjoy
Garnish with extra mint and lime slices. Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.

Pitcher Mojito Mocktail (Serves 4–6)
Ingredients
- 40–50 fresh mint leaves
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 6-8 limes)
- 2–3 limes, sliced
- 1.5–2 liters plain or lime sparkling water
- Ice, for serving
Instructions
- Add the mint leaves, honey, and lime slices to a large pitcher.
- Gently muddle everything together until the mint becomes fragrant and the limes release their juice.
- Pour in the fresh lime juice and stir well.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve if making ahead.
- Right before serving, add plenty of ice and pour in the sparkling water. Stir gently so the fizz stays bubbly.
- Garnish with extra mint and lime slices if desired.
Don’t Have a Muddler?
Use the back of a wooden spoon to gently press the mint and lime into the bottom of the glass. You want to release the oils from the mint without shredding the leaves too much.
Serving Suggestions
Fruit-based and rich dairy desserts balance the mocktail’s crisp acidity. Try it with my Peach Blueberry Cobbler or High-Protein Biscoff Cheesecake.
