What Is a Mojito Mocktail?

A mojito mocktail is the non-alcoholic version of a classic mojito cocktail. It’s made with fresh mint, lime, sparkling water, and sweetener for the same refreshing flavor without the rum. You may also hear it called a virgin mojito mocktail, a nonalcoholic mojito or mint mojito mocktail.

Here’s a look at the main ingredients and easy substitutions. * For exact measurements and instructions, scroll down to the recipe card.

  • Fresh Mint: This is what gives it the real mojito taste. Dried mint doesn’t work here.
  • Lime: Freshly squeezed is best but you could sub lime juice.
  • Honey: Adjust to your taste. Date paste or maple syrup also work well.
  • Sparkling Water: Lime flavor is nice but plain is fine too.
  • Make it a Cocktail: Add 1–1.5 oz of white rum. You could also use tequila or vodka in a pinch.
