Storage

  • I like to eat mug cakes fresh, but you can store the dry ingredients in an airtight container for up to 6 months. When you’re ready, just add the wet ingredients, microwave, and enjoy!

Recipe Tips for the Best Protein Snickers Protein Mug Cake

  • Don’t overcook: A slightly gooey center is best for mug cakes. They can become dry if overcooked. Mine was ready at 45 seconds.
  • Oven option: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes.
  • Make sure to use a large mug that has plenty of room for the cake to rise as it cooks. I like to use a soup mug to make mine.

Variations

  • Vegan: Use plant-based protein powder and non-dairy milk.
  • Keto-friendly: Swap maple syrup for allulose or erythritol-based syrup.
  • Nut-free: Use a nut free protein powder, sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter and skip the peanuts.
  • Protein Powder: I used Snickers because I had it on hand, but you could also use chocolate or a chocolate caramel or chocolate peanut butter flavored powder.
