✨ Why These Stand Out: Blending the oats with cottage cheese and Greek yogurt creates an ultra-creamy chocolate pudding texture and adds protein without the use of powders.

If you love the mix if crunchy Kataifi, pistachio paste and chocolate, you’ll love this easy breakfast.

The base is made with blended oats, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, and maple syrup. After blending, it becomes thick, smooth, and almost pudding-like. Layers of pistachio cream and toasted kataifi bring in the flavors of Dubai chocolate and add extra texture and crunch.

And if you have picky eaters like mine who don’t love oats, blending them makes them feel like a dessert for breakfast, while the protein keeps them full all morning.

Ingredients for Dubai chocolate overnight oats including rolled oats, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, maple syrup, pistachio cream, kataifi, and strawberries.
  • Rolled Oats
Old-fashioned rolled oats create the best texture for blended overnight oats. Quick oats can work, but the final texture may be softer.
  • Cottage Cheese
This is where much of the protein comes from. Once blended and mixed with the other flavors, you won’t taste the cottage cheese.
Substitution: Skyr or additional Greek yogurt.
  • Greek Yogurt
Use thick Greek yogurt or skyr for the creamiest texture.
  • Cocoa Powder
Unsweetened cocoa powder gives these oats their rich chocolate flavor.
  • Pistachio Cream
Pistachio cream is what gives these overnight oats their signature Dubai chocolate flavor.
Substitution: Pistachio butter mixed with a little maple syrup.
  • Kataifi
Toasted kataifi adds the crunchy texture found in traditional Dubai chocolate bars. Toast it yourself or buy it already toasted.
    Substitution: Crushed toasted phyllo pastry.
  • Strawberries
Fresh strawberries add brightness and pair surprisingly well with the chocolate and pistachio flavors.

Time needed: 10 minutes

  1. Blend the Oat Base

Add the oats, milk, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and flax seeds to a blender. Blend until completely smooth and thick. The mixture should look similar to chocolate pudding. Chocolate overnight oat ingredients blended into a smooth, creamy mixture in a blender.

  2. Create the Layers

Pour half of the blended oat mixture into a jar or bowl. Add 1 tablespoon pistachio cream, 1 tablespoon toasted kataifi, and strawberries if using. 3. Chill

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours. For the best texture, leave them overnight. Dubai chocolate overnight oats topped with pistachio cream, crispy toasted kataifi, strawberries, and cacao nibs before chilling.

Storage & Freezer Tips

  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For the crunchiest texture, add the top layer of pistachios and kataifi right before serving.
  • I don’t recommend freezing these oats because the texture can become watery once thawed.

Trish’s Tips

Here’s a few things I’ve learned over the years making overnight oats and Dubai chocolate-inspired recipes:

  • Toast the kataifi until golden for the best flavor.
  • Use a high-speed blender to blend the oats thoroughly for the smoothest texture.
  • Use full-fat Greek yogurt for an extra creamy result.
  • If your oats seem too thick after chilling, stir in a splash of milk.
  • Layer the pistachio cream in the middle and on top so you get some in every bite.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are blended overnight oats better than traditional overnight oats?

I think it really comes down to personal preference. If you love a thick, creamy texture that’s more like chocolate pudding than oatmeal, you’ll probably prefer blended overnight oats. I also find they’re a great option for anyone who doesn’t enjoy the texture of traditional overnight oats, like kids. You still get all the goodness of oats, just in a much smoother form that can be easier to digest too.

Do oats lose nutrients when blended?

No. Blending changes the texture of the oats, but it doesn’t remove their fiber, vitamins, minerals, or other nutrients. You’re still getting all the benefits of oats, just in a smoother, creamier breakfast.

How long do blended overnight oats last in the fridge?

Blended overnight oats will stay fresh in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you’re adding toppings like kataifi, granola, or fresh fruit, I recommend adding those just before serving so they stay crisp and fresh.

Are overnight oats healthy?

Overnight oats provide fiber, complex carbohydrates, and protein. This version also includes cottage cheese and Greek yogurt, making it higher in protein than many traditional overnight oat recipes.
